Wow, God is doing amazing things through you, the body of Christ! Here is a quick update on the youth's weekend retreat at Falls Creek.
After a safe peaceful drive to Davis OK, we met up with our sister church North Park over dinner and enjoyed some crock-pot BBQ, good ole veggies, and of course a slice of cake for every sweet tooth in the building.
As we walked into the Conference Center we were welcomed by the band and I knew God was not only going to work in youth's hearts, but the leaders as well. As Chris Tomlin puts it his song God of this City: "Greater things are still to be done (in the city of Pottsboro)!"
Several songs later, we opened up the Word of God. Our main scripture for the night was Psalm 90, where each leader, student, and musician was challenged spiritually. We were called to understand the will of God, flee from all unrighteousness and to become servants in the Gospel of peace. Pray with us that youth from all over North Texas will receive that peace for the very first time.
Within our small group time, I officially introduced Victor and Trish to the students for the first time. Our goal is to begin the transfer of leadership of the youth group to Victor this weekend. He will continue with a fruitful ministry of reaching all generations with the hope each of us have in Christ. We believe that at the heart of every ministry is a relationship so Victor and Trish each gave their personally testimony, and then encouraged the students to do the same.
Today we have a fun and eventful day planned. Please continue in prayer for the students God has entrusted us to minister to this weekend! On behalf of Victor, Trish Jenna and I thank you for all your support and prayer!
